North Country Life Flight Ground Team volunteer and former patient Jan Washburn would like to share a gift giving idea.
Jan was inspired when talking with a friend who was helping clean out her husband's Grandma's house now that she is living in a nursing home. She told Jan, "My advice for everyone is to stop buying gifts for their relatives who really don't anything. We have uncovered so many unused items: scented candles, knick-knacks, clothing still with tags, even boxes of candy that went uneaten." Her family has now begun a tradition of giving to a not-for profit in honor of loved ones instead of buying gift items.
