Who has the best chicken wings in our region? You can help declare the winner of Wing Wars 6, a friendly competition among area restaurants that will raise funds for North Country Life Flight. At press time, eight eateries plan to participate; each bringing 500 of their best wings to Wiseguys in Lake Placid on Sunday, November 10th, from Noon till 4:00 PM. For $12 admission at the door at Wiseguys, you can eat wings for as long as they last. All of the door proceeds will be donated to North Country Life Flight, the region’s air medical rescue team. Raffles and silent auction items will also be part of the festivities with all funds benefitting Life Flight. The first 100 attendees will receive a free Wing Wars T-shirt.Wing Wars 6 is sponsored by WSLP/93.3 FM and presented by Yuengling.

Participating eateries in Wing Wars 6 include: defending 2012 champion Dancing Bears Restaurant at High Peaks Resort; 2008, 2009, 2011 Wing War Champion Wiseguys 2010 Wing War Champion Kanu Restaurant at Whiteface Lodge; Price Chopper; The Cottage Café; Generations Restaurant; Delta Blue Restaurant and Red Neck Bistro The winner will be announced live on WSLP/93.3 FM

New this year, the Wing Wars Champion will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges in blind tastings. The judges will be:

Jim Tolkan – actor from movies like Back to the Future and Top Gun
Craig Randall – Mayor of Lake Placid
Kevin Greg – Chef/Owner of Café Rustica Restaurant
Zack Morse – Radio Personality from Philadelphia
The crowd will also receive ballots to vote for their favorite wing.
